>> Enough Room for Space (ERforS)

Enough Room for Space (ERforS) was founded in 2005 by Maarten Vanden Eynde and Marjolijn Dijkman, with the purpose of structuring and orchestrating cooperation. ERforS stimulates the creation of physical, virtual and mental space for cultural initiatives by initiating and coordinating events and residence/research projects worldwide.

By working together with different institutions, establishments and initiatives a rich breeding ground is created for the constantly changing group of participants. The group includes visual artists, writers, filmmakers and designers. Several other sciences like philosophy, anthropology, cosmology and archaeology are being involved as well. Depending on the geographical and institutional location the project is being put together. The length, the amount of participants, the way of making documentation or a presentation and the predetermined concept or starting point, provision the final outcome. Every possible way of collaborating or working together is being utilized and used for the development and creation of committed art.

Enough Room for Space stands for openness, diversity and experiment. It wants to get and give an image, as divers as possible, of the earth and its inhabitants. With art as stimulator, communicator and initiator it wants to expose different processes being part of this world. How do we deal with the world as Homo Sapiens Sapiens? How do we position ourselves towards different cultures (history) and life in general, now and in the future?

Worldwide and within Europe ERforS tries to find its position and generate discussion. As weed (= pioneer plants) ERforS wants to grow there were it is not planted. At the same time it wants to protect rare and exceptional flowers and stimulate research for new (genetically manipulated or even extraterrestrial) plants and organisms.

ERforS mirrors itself in set-up and aim to the International Spacestation and gives several research projects the possibility to be docked as a capsule to the imaginary Spacestation of Enough Room for Space. This generates a database of related information, a network of motivating initiatives, a conglomeration of energy.
