The Other Side, 2017

The Other Side is completely build up with pairs of objects, mirroring as it were itself. It is a reference to the biblical story of Noah, who stocked the Ark with a male and female of each species so that they could procreate after the impending flood. It hints at a past deluge but the title also suggests the possibility of an after life. Consumer goods are packed on a 60 foot long catamaran that crashed on the hill of Verbeke Foundation, one of the largest private initiatives for contemporary art throughout Europe. Ironically, before becoming an art collector, its owner and founder Geert Verbeke managed one of the biggest transportation companies in the region.
